How it works

Admissions Process

When a potential client or their loved one reaches out for help at Northridge Detox Center the intake process is fairly simple, and straightforward. The process starts with a phone call, greeting you on the other end of the phone is one of our trusted admissions representatives. During this call they can help by answering any questions you might have about the process and what to expect. Also, we feel that we should let you know that ALL information collected is protected by HIPPA and the Americans With Disabilities act, meaning that everything is kept confidential and nothing will be shared with anyone outside of our organization.

Verification Of Benefits

During the phone call with our admissions coordinator they will be collecting all necessary information in order to prepare our team and your family with the facts. (Drug use and private information will not be shared with your family unless you request that it is). We will start with collecting your first name, last name, date of birth, phone number, insurance provider and member ID to start processing your your benefits. This tells us and you what type of coverage your insurance provider offers towards treatment. Typically this takes roughly 15-25 minutes if called in within business hours (8am-5pm). After your insurance information has been processed its time to move onto the second stage of the intake process.

Scheduling The Pre-Assessment

After the insurance information has been verified we will then schedule a pre-assessment with one of our clinicians/case managers. This can typically be done and completed within an hours time frame. During the pre-assessment information is gather to start building your chart within our electronic medical record system. Things that will be discussed on the pre-assessment are thing like substances being used, length of use, history of addiction, any health related consequences that have happened as a result of your substance use. We also make sure to gather a mental health evaluation to be sure our doctors, psychiatrists and staff know what to expect as well as know how to properly treat each and every client.

Arranging Transportation

After everything has been approved and you or a loved one has been accepted the next step is to schedule the route of transportation to help the client get to the facility in a safe way. We do help with transportation whether its from out of state or local to southern California. During this time you will be staying in contact with one of our admissions coordinators just to make sure there are no issues along the way.
